OUSSG look forward to welcoming new and returning OUSSG members in the Autumn. The committee is currently putting together an exciting programme for the coming academic year. The provisional date for the first Michaelmas 2010 seminar is Tuesday 12 October and details of the OUSSG Michaelmas termcard will be made available as soon as all the seminars for the term have been confirmed. Pre-term events: OUSSG will have a stall at Freshers' Fair 2010 - please drop by if you're new to the University or, if you're an existing member who would like to be involved in helping, contact the Secretary. OUSSG held its 2009 annual celebration dinner on Friday 3 July at the Oriental Club, London, preceded by a tour of the FCO. The event was particularly noteworthy as it celebrated the Group's ruby anniversary. In addition to the speech by Mr David Frost CMG, the Gaudy toast was given by Dr Robert Johnson. Meetings are held on Tuesdays during Term in the Old Library at All Souls College, from 20.30 until 22.00, unless otherwise noted. Members are welcome to dine beforehand, space permitting, if they contact the Vice-President by Sunday. |
