A researcher in the security and defence arena, Mr Marrone has obtained in 2009 a Masters in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Previously he has worked at IAI in both Transatlantic Relations and security and defence arenas. He holds a BA degree in Political Science and an MSc degree in International Relations from the LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome, in both cases with first class honours.
He is interested in Italian and European security and defence policy, the relations between industry, technological innovation and security/defence, NATO and US foreign policy. He currently collaborates as free-lance journalist with several Italian magazines and web magazines, including AffarInternazionali, Aspenia and Risk. He is an alumnus of the German Marshall Fund’s US-based Marshall Memorial Fellowship.
